Our aluminium range is very light, weighing only 12grams these nearly eliminate hand fatigue that some people can suffer from when using a heavier pencil for many hours at a time. They come in a choice of 4 different lead thicknesses 0.3mm which is extra fine, 0.5mm which is medium to fine and generally the most popular size, or two more larger thicknesses 0.7mm for a heavier line weight or 0.9mm which is the thickest lead weight.

If pencil weight is not so much of a deal then you could always choose one of our stainless steel mechanical pencils or our titanium mechanical pencils which are not only slightly different in finish, but also in weight too being a little heavier. the stainless steel being the heaviest at 22grams.

Our handmade luxury mechanical pencils come in two different nib types too, brass or chrome (as shown in the image above)

Nicholas Hemingway designs his mechanical pencils to be both the best mechanical pencils for writing and as well as the best mechanical pencils for drawing too. There really shouldn’t be a difference between one or the other as both are used in exactly the same way whether you are writing or drawing, so to make a distinction between the two tasks and to suggest that a different pencil is required to do the two jobs is rather silly. The only real distinction that can be made is one of one’s own preference for lead weight and lead type. Our pencils come with HB leads, but you can install any lead type you want to as they use standard sized leads which you can source anywhere.
