British born designer Nicholas Hemingway designs and builds luxury stainless steel mechanical pencils
One of our most popular mechanical pencils has to be our stainless steel mechanical pencil which comes in a choice of brass or chrome nibs to finish. Very popular among those artists and architects who prefer a weightier pencil and enjoy a deep brushed steel finish to match. Available in a choice of 4 lead sizes, our luxury stainless steel mechanical pencils come in a 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.7mm and a heavy lined 0.9mm nib lead size. Our original classic line of pencils also include our luxury brass mechanical pencil, our luxury aluminium mechanical pencil and our luxury titanium mechanical pencil that weighs a little less than the stainless steel version with a slightly deeper metallic grey colour.
We send our pencils all over the world and are very proud of the amazing responses we get from our customers. seeing them so pleased with our products makes us feel great.
All our pencils are designed and built by Nicholas Hemingway himself who started the company in honour of his grandfather. His grandfather passed away and left Nicholas some of his workshop tools that his grandfather had used after he retired. Nicholas inherited his grandfather’s lathe and soon started designing pencils that he could make on the very same lathe and make his grandfather proud. His Luxury mechanical pencils went on to be a big success with architects and artists all over the world using his creations. To this day Nicholas Hemingway still makes every pencil on his grandfather’s old lathe and the story continues.
Nicholas Hemingway’s luxury stainless steel mechanical pencils are perfect for drawing or writing and among some of our best clients in the field of architecture are also a wide demographic of writers too who want a mechanical pencil they too can treasure for its story.
When it comes to mechanical pencils for drawing or mechanical pencils for writing, there really is no difference between the two. They should be designed in exactly the same way as they are used in exactly the same way whether you are writing cursive lettering or drawing lines and sweeping curves on an architectural drawing. We have very satisfied customers in both worlds and this only confirms this statement in our mind.
We also offer a personalisation service on some of our luxury mechanical pencils. Our Titanium, stainless steel, walnut and reclaimed ebony mechanical pencils can be etched and engraved with the initials of the gift recipient. a personalised mechanical pencil really does make it that little more special if you are thinking of one of our pencils as a gift idea.
If you are unsure of which lead size to purchase, I can advise that our most popular lead size would be our 0.5mm stainless steel mechanical pencil. The 0.5mm mechanical pencil is a medium to fine lead weight and perfect for writing and drawing. If you are looking for something a little lighter than the stainless steel pencil, then we do have a very lightweight aluminium mechanical pencil available.
I hoe this has helped a little in your decision making. Please take a look at our full range of handmade pencils and pens.
All the best
