I backed this on the kickstarter and it is now my everyday writing implement at work. It is very well made and feels great in your hand. The brass on mine is now starting to develop its own character, which is great. I was so pleased with this I bought a second of a different design for home use.

Having purchased numerous Mechanical Pencils in various metals, a Writers Pen, 5.6mm Clutch Pencil and 2mm Clutch pencils then I can fully vouch for the quality and workmanship of these handcrafted drawing and writing instruments. I create hand drawn architectural drawings and fine line renderings in graphite for projects and fine art prints. My go to drafting tools. Highly recommended.

I’m genuinely surprised that i didn’t discover this pencil, and is slimmer than i expected it to be. Just like the other pencil offerings, the eraser is refillable with pentel z2-1n, and not recommended to try and use a staedtler 92r(or similar size eraser), or you get a jammed mechanism like i sadly did, though in my experience, nicholas will make it right. The pencil, while slim, does make me feel like i’m using a wooden pencil in form factor, which isn’t bad, especially when the closest equivalent, the kaweco sport, is shorter and thicker by quite a bit, and most likely heavier.
While I recommend any pencil nicholas makes, I would probably advise someone to start with this pencil, which is fitting since it’s nicholas’ first pencil, to my knowledge.

Excellent pencil and brilliant weight which makes this pencil so easy to use. Cannot wait until it starts to develop a brilliant patina. My fourth NH writing instrument and certainly not the last!
I would like to see the NH signature as well as the lead width engraved on the pencil. Also, remember that Signed for (the service used to post my item) only insures up to £20 now so much better to use Tracked for my peace of mind as it is insured up to £150.
